2 Paintings at the AZ State Fair

Kula Korn Dancers and From Above-Utah Winter have been juried into the AZ State Fair. The State Fair Fine Art Exhibit is downstairs in the Coliseum Oct 16 - Nov 8 (closed Mondays). The closest parking is on the North Side of the fairgrounds.

3 PFAA Artists Exhibit at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts

Jane Brown, Lupe Cavanaugh & I have been selected to exhibit our work at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts through the end of November!

A fund raiser for the community is a raffle of artwork! Only $5 per ticket! Winner selects their favorite of 3 pieces (one from each artist). I have chosen my block print FALL SEEDS for the raffle.

The theatre address is 8355 W Peoria Ave. Phone: 623-815-7930. The parking entrance is off Washington Street just South of Peoria Ave. A combined 25 pieces of work are in this exhibit. Artists' reception will be before Curtain Time Saturday, October 24 (from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.) The Gallery is open regular box office hours Mon - Fri 10-4. Sat 4- 7:30, Sun 11:30-7:30; performace days 10 - Curtain (7:30). The current comedy play is "Sly Fox" running from Oct 16 - Nov 1.

AWA Fall Exhibition Award

A very busy & wonderful fall season!!! I was just notified that JAZZY NIGHT won a Merchant Award in the Arizona Watercolor Association Fall Exhibition at Fountain Hills. The exhibition

runs from Oct 1-30, 2009. The Awards & Artists Reception is Fiday, October 16, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Paradise2 (Squared) is also in the show!

NAWS Experimental Exhibition Award!!

I just was notified that I received the JUROR'S CHOICE AWARD (2nd Place) at the NAWS (Northern Arizona Watercolor Society's Experimental Exhibition juried by Beverly Roman for "Think Cool". Yea!!!! The exhibition is at the Community Exhibition Gallery (behind the Sedona Arts Center) in Sedona at 15 Art Barn Road through October 17,2009.

Peoria Fine Art Association Fall Membership Exhibition AWARD

I received an Honorable Mention for my painting "Rose Is" by the judge, Tom Herbert. Very nice. The exhibition is at the Peoria Unified School District Administration Center, 6330 W. Thunderbird Rd. in Glendale and runs through October 7, 2009. All media is represented in this show!

How Sad!

I picked up my painting Mammas at MoMA Tuesday from the West Valley Arts Museum. The museum is "Temporarily" closed. It needs more money to continue to operate. I am going to send a special donation to them. Won't you consider doing so also? They are currently trying to raise $150,000 to reorganize and restructure. Arizona Watercolor Association Fall Exhibition

Yea!! I just received notification that Jazzy Night was accepted into the Arizona Watercolor Association Fall Exhibition juried by Charles Harrington! Also, Paradise2 (Squared) was selected as First alternate. The Exhibition is at the Fountain Hills Community Center, 13001 N. La Montana Drive, Fountain Hills from October 1 - October 30, 2009. The Awards Reception will be from 6:30 - 8:30 October 16th. Hope you can visit the Exhibition!!!

Northern Arizona Watercolor Association

YEA!!! Just received my notification today -- Think Cool was accepted to the NAWS show!!! The NAWS "Experimental Watermedia Exhibition 2009 will be at the Sedona Art Center from September 26 -October 17, 2009. The Reception is 5-7 pm Friday October 2nd, awards presented at 6 pm.

Northern Arizona Watercolor Association

I just submitted my latest painting "Think Cool" to the Northern Arizona Watercolor Association for their Fall Experimental Exhibition. For “Think Cool” I used acrylic Ink on tissue/rice paper for the collage band, acrylic impressed with saran wrap, a band with incised tar gel, one with glass beads in acrylic; a crackle glaze over acrylic with a top glaze of pearlized tinting medium; Northern Lights are pearlized ink and pearlized medium. Whether or not this gets in the show it definitely makes me "think cool" while spending the hot summer in the Phoenix Valley!!

West Valley Art Museum Exhibition

What a great spring season! Another of my paintings, Mamas @ MoMA (Acrylic) was selected by the West Valley Art Museum for their exhibit "Celebrating Art of the West Valley IV which will be on view from May 22-Sept 6, 2009. Northern Arizona Watercolor Association Spring Show

I am so happy that all 3 of my submitted paintings were selected for the Northern Arizona Watercolor Association (NAWS), Sedona, AZ. (Paradise Squared, Sedona Rocks Abstract #3 and On Stage). The exhibition will continue through May 30, 2009 at the Sedona Art Center Community Gallery at 15 Art Barn Road, Sedona AZ (928) 282- 3865. PS: Paradise Squared won an Award of Excellence in the Fall AAG Show at Fountain Hills.

Western Federation of Artists Annual Exhibition

Jazzy Night was juried into the Western Federation of Artists exhibition hosted by the San Diego Watercolor Society this year. It will be on exhibit in San Diego until May 31 at their gallery located at 2825 Dewey Road, #105 San Diego, CA (619)876-4550.
